Laser treatment for wrinkles

Laser resurfacing is a common treatments used for wrinkles today. It goes by several names: wrinkle laser, lasabrasion, laser peel, laser surgery, laser vaporization, laser desurfacing, and several others. There are basically two types of laser treatment:

The first type uses lasers (the CO2 and erbium) that works by vaporizing superficial damaged skin cells and allowing the remaining collagen to become thicker and healthier. As a result wrinkles will be made flush with the level of the skin. Fine wrinkles will cast no shadows and dynamic wrinkles will be improved. The CO2 laser also tightens the skin and smoothes the skin texture. The vaporization irritates the skin and a recovery period is needed between treatments.

The second type uses N-Lite lasers that works by stimulating collagen production alone, rather than by vaporizing superficial skin cells. The advantage of this is there is no irritation of the skin and no recovery period. However N-Lite laser treatment is considered less predictable. Some people see very little improvements with this treatment.
